About

sixmonthbible.com is a plain reading plan shared between friends. No account, no email, no password. The link in your address bar (sixmonthbible.com/u/yourname) is your account.

What we store

When you start a plan we store your chosen handle ("slug"), your display name, the plan you picked, your start date, and a random identifier that lives in your browser. As you read, we record which days you've completed so friends in your group can see your progress on the leaderboard.

If you turn on reminders we store a push-notification endpoint for the browser you enabled it from and the time of day you want to be reminded. You can turn reminders off from Settings at any time and we delete the endpoint.

We don't store your email, your phone number, your payment info, or anything you type while you read.

The trade-off: lose the link, lose the account

Because there's no password to reset and no email to send you a recovery link, your URL is your account. Bookmark it. Send it to yourself. If you lose both the bookmark and the device your browser stored the identifier on, there's no way for us to hand the account back. That's the price of zero-friction onboarding, and we ship with it on purpose.

Groups and the leaderboard

When you join a group with a six-character code, members of that group can see your display name, your slug, and how many days of the plan you've completed. No one outside the group sees any of that. There are no public feeds, comments, or reactions — only the leaderboard, and only for the people you invited.

Translation

Readings use the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. You can copy, quote, print, and share any part of it for any reason.

Getting help or deleting your data

Email hi@sixmonthbible.com with your slug. We'll delete your user record, any group memberships, your reading progress, and any notification endpoints on file. The operation is irreversible.

Changes to this page

If we change what we store, we'll update this page and note the change at the top. The latest version of the repository is the source of truth; older versions live in the public git history for this site.
